CFO POSITION AT PRODUCTION/MARKETING COMPANY
United Motion Entertainment, Inc. (UME) seeks a Chief Financial Officer for the start up of this hybrid production & marketing firm that is set to revolutionize the way entertainment is produced, distributed and promoted. UME has gathered well-known industry personnel on its board of advisors and is poised to become the next major film studio, differentiated by its 21st century approach to entertainment franchises.
Position will directly manage financial planning, monitor operating results, and have a key role in refining the mission of this organization.
Perfect candidate has background as studio/network executive who wants to start his own department, realize his own visions, set his own goals, and have the opportunity to be part of a company that will revolutionize the way this industry looks at entertainment financing, production, distribution, and marketing models.
CFO will potentially become company's COO.

Hours: Part-Time for 3 months, then full time

Job Responsibilities:
* Prepare project and company budgets & forecasts for potential investors. Consolidate detailed revenue and expense projections for each plan cycle that includes: operational budget, mid year forecast, long-term plan, and year-end forecast.
* Explore and create new business & financing models that combine traditional funding resources with contemporary branded entertainment; determine staff needs and build your own team of experts to implement new models.
* Reach out to venture capitalists & angel investors to locate funding for company's operational and project costs. Find investors interested in co-financing and co-production arrangements.
* Primary liaison to stakeholders and financiers.
* Prepare presentations of plan results for each forecast cycle to relevant stakeholders for sign off and consolidation into combined results.
* Develop management reports for revenue outlooks, monthly, quarterly and annual updates including comparison of plan against budget and prior periods, as appropriate.
* Build the organization's capacity to manage its finances as it grows; bring a strategic, high-level perspective to the organization's finance and accounting needs.
* Maintain close relationship with company's management team to make decisions through a financial lens and educate staff on financial literacy.
* In keeping with the organization's mission to become "the film studio of the 21st century", be open to continuous innovation and apply a creative approach to problem solving.
* Other special projects as required.
Job Requirements:
* BA/BS degree in Accounting, Business or related field requirement.
* Minimum of 5 years experience in financial systems, accounting and finance required
* Experience with accounting, tax and business issues required.
* Entertainment and/or publishing industry experience required.
* Thorough knowledge of US and international production incentives preferred.
* Must have knowledge of advertising metrics in relation to brand & company revenue (e.g. CPM).
* Must have effective presentation and tactful communication skills with persons on all levels.
* Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instructions.
* Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively.
* Must have the ability to multi-task and work well under time constraints.
* Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
* Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines.
* Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Writers become employees of Disney | ABC Television Group and will be paid a weekly salary of $961.54 ($50,000.00 annualized) plus any applicable benefits for which they are eligible in accordance with the then-current Company benefits plans. The program is designed to expose aspiring writers to key executives, producers and literary representatives - all essential in the pursuit of a writing career. Additionally, while in the program, writers have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a current programming or development executive to create spec scripts of series from the current broadcast season. The ultimate goal is to prepare and nurture the writers for a professional writing career.

Every year, the Workshop selects up to 10 participants out of almost 1,000 submissions and exposes them to Warner Bros. Television's top writers and executives, all with the ultimate goal of earning them a staff position on a Warner Bros. produced television show.
