The application form can be found on the Courage To Grow Website. Students must submit the application form online and submit a 250 word essay to the topic located on the application form. Applications must be submitted by the deadline. There
are 12 deadlines throughout the year the award is offered every month.
Requirements:
• Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be a high school junior, senior or current undergraduate student at time of application.
• This award is for U.S. students.
The "Courage to Grow Scholarship" was created to help students realize their college dreams. Scholarship recipients will be selected one week after the deadline has passed.

Olive Garden Pasta Tales Essay Contest
Olive Garden Pasta Tales Essay Contest is open to students in grades 1 to 12 who reside in the U.S. and Canada. The competition awards students in each grade who write the best essay on a topic chosen by Olive Garden.
Each student entering the contest will be asked to write a 50 to 250 word essay. Essays will be judged on how well they address the topic as well as creativity, originality, and use of grammar, punctuation and spelling. Each student who wins at their grade level receives a savings bond and a complimentary dinner for their entire family at Olive Garden.
One grand prize winner will receive a savings bond and a trip to New York City where they will dine at Olive Garden in Times Square. In addition, the grand prize winner will have a donation made to their school.
Olive Garden is a family restaurant specializing in Italian food with more than 800 restaurants around the country. The restaurant is also dedicated to serving communities through food donations, fund-raising events for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and other charity and school events.
The deadline for this scholarship is MARCH 22, 2014 of each year, and the award amount is usually $500 - $2,500.

Snoop Dogg Youth Football League Internship
Rapper Snoop Dogg, via his Snoop Youth Football League, is looking for an intern for just one day. The non-profit organization gives inner-city children ages 5-13 the chance to participate in youth football activities.
According to Snoop Dogg (Lion) himself: "All ya gotta do is help me support the Snoop Youth Football League for inner-city children, and you'll be entered to win. I'll fly you and a friend out to my city, the great Los Angeles, and put you up in a nice hotel!"
Those who do donate will receive a free T-shirt, a thank you video and an e-card!
The internship is part of a promotional campaign for the organization which is based in Los Angeles, CA. Via the program, children learn the values of teamwork, good sportsmanship, discipline and self-respect, and the importance of academics. Participating children also get the opportunity to travel to different places through the United States.
Snoop says that his intern-for-the-day will "get a look inside the Snoop world and help me get some work done - maybe on the set of my news network GGN Hood News, or backstage with me when I'm DJ Snoopadelic."

Nominations Invited for 2014 Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Scholarship Award
ased on the Jewish concept of tikkun olam, or “repair of the world,” the Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards seek to recognize teens who are exceptional role models in their communities and beyond. The awards celebrate teens who have demonstrated remarkable leadership and are actively engaged in projects that embody the values oftikkun olam. Teen projects may benefit the Jewish community specifically or the broader community in general.
Up to fifteen selected teens -- five from California and ten from other communities across the country -- will each be acknowledged for their visionary actions with an award of $36,000 to be used to further their philanthropic work or their education.
Anyone, except a family member, is eligible to nominate a teen, and. teens are welcome to apply without a nomination. In that case, no nomination form will be filled out, but an additional (third) recommendation is required. Anyone can serve as a reference for a teen, except for the applicant’s nominator or a member of the applicant’s family.
To be eligible, nominees must be between the ages of 13 and 19 at the time of nomination, working to repair the world in a leadership capacity, actively volunteering without any compensation, and self-identified as Jewish.

100 Black Men of America Future Leader Scholarship Program
100 Black Men of America Future Leader Scholarship Program is open to high school seniors as well as college freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. The scholarship is based on academic achievement and community service.
To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above. It is also necessary for applicants to have completed 50 hours of community service without compensation within the past 12 months and be able to document their volunteer work. To apply, students will be asked to complete a 600-word essay on one of four topics.
Eligible students include high school seniors and college undergraduate students attending or planning to attend full-time a U.S. accredited, post-secondary institution. Leadership is an important requirement for this scholarship. It can include holding an office position in school or within another organization. It can also include activities they have done that directly benefited their community.
The scholarship is offered by 100 Black Men of America, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting programs that improve communities and those in them and also increase educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans. The organization was formed in 1963 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $2,000.

Darin C. Banks Foundation Scholarship
Darin C. Banks Foundation Scholarship Competition is for high school seniors between the ages of 16-18. Eligible students must be planning to enroll full-time in a U.S. accredited college or university.
To qualify, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and be U.S. citizens. Application requirements include a completed application, essay, transcripts and test scores, resume and two letters of recommendation. Applicants may choose one of three essay questions to answer in 500 words or less.
The Darin C. Banks Foundation provides the scholarship to help students with financial need to be able to attend college. In addition to the scholarship, the foundation provides mentoring programs to help students explore and choose careers and continue to build strong character and a sense of commitment to their communities.
Darin C. Banks was a procurement specialist and a philanthropist. He earned his Bachelor's degree at Michigan State University and his Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University. He understood the financial challenges of college and was a strong supporter of higher education. After his passing in 2009, his wife, Michelle, established the foundation in his memory to continue his legacy of service to others.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program is open to all U.S. high school or home-schooled seniors who plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university. The scholarship is renewable for three more years following the year the scholarship was received.
A grade point average of 3.0 or above is required, along with leadership qualities in school and in the community. Students must demonstrate a need for financial assistance and plan to attend college full time to pursue a degree. The scholarship can be used for tuition, room and board, books, fees and supplies.
Following the example of former President Ronald Reagan, students selected will be those who have a civic commitment to improving their communities, value integrity with strong values and ethics, and show leadership and drive both inside the classroom and outside.

Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship
Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship
Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship is awarded every year to high school students who have high academics and are leaders in their communities. It is open to students who plan to attend a four-year U.S. college or university.
The scholarship may be used for college tuition, room and board, books, fees and other college expenses. Applicants must be descendants of Veterans who served in the Armed Forces. This can include WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon and Grenada, Panama, and Desert Storm, Gulf War or the War on Terrorism.
The scholarship is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary to support the children of Veterans and to honor the sacrifices of warriors who fought for our freedom. Each year, 15 students are awarded with scholarships to help them pursue higher education.
In addition to academics, qualifying students must demonstrate that they committed 50 hours of community service during their high school years. Students applying for the scholarship must be in their senior year of high school.

The Tom Joyner Foundation "Full Ride" Scholarship
The Tom Joyner Foundation "Full Ride" Scholarship awards a full scholarship to one student to attend a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors with high academic records.
To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or above, SAT score of 2100 or higher, and ACT score of 30 or above. The scholarship covers all tuition expenses such as tuition, room and board, books and fees. The scholarship is renewable for up to 10 semesters, making it a full-ride scholarship for one deserving student.
The scholarship recipient must be planning to attend a HBCU college in the Fall following graduation from high school. The scholarship will continue to cover all college expenses as long as the student maintains a GPA of 3.0 and is enrolled in at least 15 credit hours per semester.
The prestigious scholarship is sponsored by the Tom Joyner Foundation, founded in 1998 by Tom Joyner and located in Irving, Texas. The foundation is dedicated to raising funds to support the enrollment of students in black colleges. More than $60 million has been raised by the foundation to help more than 29,000 students attend college.
