When you go to a concert headlined by a band named fun., you expect to have some fun, and that is exactly what was delivered on Thursday, October 28, 2010, at The Music Box. Opening for the entertaining band were the diverse artists Jarrod Gorbel and Steel Train. Gorbel, previously of The Honorary Title, started the show with some lovely ballads consisting of just a guitar and violin. Following the mellow frontman, the boisterous band hailing from New Jersey, Steel Train, came to the stage. Their fast-paced songs, catchy guitar riffs, and one song written for the children's show, Yo Gabba Gabba! got us amped up for the band we all came to see. When fun. hit the stage, the crowd went crazy. There is never a dull moment at one of their shows, and this one did not disappoint. Frontman Nate Ruess (formerly of The Format), guitarist Jack Antonoff (frontman of Steel Train), and pianist Andrew Dost, combine their unique sounds to bring a show that envelops their moniker perfectly, and fans do not expect anything less.
