Lincoln Center Internship
LINCOLN CENTER
Media Development Intern Description
DEPARTMENT
Media Development
DESCRIPTION
The Media Development Department of Lincoln Center works to bring the world
class performance and artistic activity taking place in our venues to wider
audiences across the country and the globe through distribution on a variety
of platforms. Our signature, award-winning series, Live From Lincoln Center,
brings live performances of opera, drama, music, and dance to approximately
20 million television screens across the country every year. Recently, Media
Development also produced LincolnCenter's first-ever in-theater event,
bringing the New York City Ballet's George Balanchine's The Nutcracker to
hundreds of movie theaters around the world. And a variety of new projects
are in the works, including an artist interview series featuring Lincoln
Center artists discussing their work and process.
Media Development seeks two graduate or college level students for summer
internships. This is a particularly good opportunity for those students
pursuing or considering pursuing careers in media production and/or
development, new media, film, or arts administration. This summer placement
will have the opportunity to receive valuable, hands-on experience in all
aspects of performing arts media development and distribution and include
production, research and administrative tasks. Interns will be given the
opportunity to work across Lincoln Centerdepartments and series, interacting
with a variety of Lincoln Center staff and artists.
Internships are 8-10 weeks in length, are full-time and may involve evening
and weekend hours.
Media Development Internship approximate dates: June, July, August, 2013
Interns should be earning school credit. If this is not possible, a letter
of support from an academic advisor is required.
