AAA Scholarship Foundation (K-12) AAA Scholarship Foundation provides economic and other assistance to economically disadvantaged families to enable them to select the best schools for their children. All students who are residents of Arizona are eligible to apply regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin. Applicant must be of Asian-Pacific Island heritage and living in the United States. Scholarship Award: 1 high school scholarship for $3,000 (freshman - senior in high school) Application Open: February 3, 2014 Application Deadline: April 1, 2014 Start Application Process: Apply Now× Magic Johnson Foundation Magic Johnson Foundation (High School and College) The Magic Johnson Foundation, founded by Earvin “Magic” Johnson in 1991, works to develop programs and support community-based organizations that address the educational, health and social needs of ethnically diverse, urban communities. All students are eligible to apply regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin and who live in the United States. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. Grades and academic performance will serve as indicators of potential; however, an emphasis may be placed on the individuals essay submission. Scholarship Awards: 5 college scholarships for $1,000 each (freshman - senior in college); 3 high scholarships for $1000 each (freshman – senior in high school) Application Open: February 3, 2014 Application Deadline: April 1,2014 Start Application Process: Apply Now Magic Johnson Foundation/Denny’s Memorial Scholarships In partnership with the Magic Johnson Foundation, the Denny’s LA franchise restaurants will be offering a scholarships in memory of Shami Sall, a loved and admired, Sr. Director of Operations of Denny’s. Shami had a helpful spirit and always lived by the creed, “giving a hand up instead of a hand out”. This program will award 2 deserving high school students and 2 deserving college students, $2,500 scholarships each that live in the LA market (U.S. Citizen or legal temporary resident) who have a life story that speaks to Shami’s mantra and personality. Each student will be asked to submit a 300 word essay (high school) and 500 word essay (college) on his or her own life story to apply for the scholarship. One of the requirements is to have two recommendation letters from a community leader, teacher or principal along with a copy of their gpa at the end of their junior year in high school and end of their freshman, sophmore, junior or senior semester in college. Since the student’s name and photograph will be used on the company’s website, the student will need to sign a release for that purpose.
