LOGLINE
A young boy, Kenya, ventures out into the world to find the man that saved his
life.

SYNOPSIS
Kenya, was saved from a burning building when he was 11 years old. His parents
were killed in the fire and he is sent to live in a group home. A year later a
wealthy couple has stepped up to adopt him and he finally has a new lease on
life, but before he can start this new chapter he sets out to find the man who
saved him. Along the way he meets a tattooed man that has an affection for
Thelonious Monk and a few onlookers that are happy to keep him company. It's a
fable about wanting a reason to live and cherishing the simple blessing of
being alive.

**PLEASE NOTE: This is NON PAYING GIG! 3 day shoot schedule 1st weekend in
March. The writer/director has great connections w/Mara Brock Akil, Gina Prince
Bythewood and Yvette Lee Bowser who will be viewing the completed project.

CASTING
KENYA: 11/12 years old, African-American, slim build. He's a bit of a smart
alec. Kenya has a smiling face, but sad eyes. He's very determined to get what
he wants. Kenya is the kind of kid that will spend his whole life looking for
answers.

EVAN: 11/12 years old, African-American, slim build. He has a skater boy spirit.

YOUNG WOMAN: 20s, African-American, attractive. She speaks older than she is,
and looks younger than she is. The woman is warm hearted and loves Kenya as if
he were her own son. **ROLE HAS BEEN FILLED**

TATTOOED MAN: late 30s, overweight, bald headed with a beard. He's a quiet,
intimidating man. His bark is much bigger than his bite.

MR. WILKEY: late 60s or 70s, thin and frail, grey hair. He's bitter and alone.
To say that Mr. Wilkey doesn't get out much would be an understatement.
