Visit Films is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support our team in the international sales and distribution of feature films and documentaries.
Visit Films is a worldwide film sales company specializing in director-driven work that premieres at the world's top film festivals, including Berlin, Cannes, and Toronto. Our recent titles include the breakout genre hit It Follows, Sundance success Morris From America, and SXSW-winner Krisha, and we have worked with directors such as Werner Herzog, the Duplass Brothers, Shane Carruth, and Harmony Korine. Visit also releases a select number of titles in the US and Canada for theatrical, VOD, TV and DVD distribution via sister company Monument Releasing.
Main Responsibilities:
Updating and maintaining client database, creating target lists of clients, prospecting new clients
Updating and maintaining the rights management database, logging sales contracts and film catalog Information
Preparing reports and research on international / domestic distributors for the sales team
Organizing the company's participation in various films festivals and markets including organization of booth preparation, product listing, coordinating events
Coordinating sales agents’ travel and meeting schedules and occasional personal assistance to senior staff
Maintaining the office space, ordering supplies, managing incoming mail and shipments, answering the phone, handling petty cash, filing and processing various paperwork
Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Passionate about independent film industry and international business
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and database software (FileMaker & FilmTrack preferred), Adobe Creative Suite not required but a plus
• Sales or administrative experience preferred, ability and enthusiasm to learn about the intricacies of film sales (should not be afraid of numbers and legal language)
• Strong communication and organizational skills with a specific focus on attention to detail
• Comfortable working with people who are traveling internationally and in various time zones
• Must be self-motivated, highly efficient, with problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain flexible, calm and focused while multi-tasking and meeting the changing demands of the job (longer hours should be expected during preparation of major markets)
• Enthusiastic and personable
• Foreign language skills helpful
