The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship
The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship is open to all U.S. high school students grade 9 - 12, current college students both undergraduate and graduate, and adult students.
This scholarship is based entirely on merit. Grades and test scores are not considered. But students entering the contest must show a passion for fulfilling their dreams of completing a post-graduate education. In order to apply, students must submit an essay of 250 words or less describing what the scholarship will mean to them and how it will help them fulfill their career goals.
The scholarship is funded by and named after authors Gen and Kelly Tanabe. They are considered experts on college admission and scholarships and have written popular books that include The Ultimate Scholarship Book, The Ultimate Guide to America's Best Colleges, 50 Successful Ivy League Application Essays, and more.
The scholarship money is for students planning to attend or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. The money may be used for tuition, room and board, books or any other college-related expense.
The deadline for this scholarship is JULY 31,2014 and the award amount is usually $1,000.

My son daughter and son both entered to win this scholarship, but both didn't make the cut sadly. It's nice to see so many places offering up scholarships these days and I appreciate it when people advertise it on a site like this, makes it easier to enter into such contests.
