Olive Garden Pasta Tales Essay Contest Olive Garden Pasta Tales Essay Contest is open to students in grades 1 to 12 who reside in the U.S. and Canada. The competition awards students in each grade who write the best essay on a topic chosen by Olive Garden. Each student entering the contest will be asked to write a 50 to 250 word essay. Nominations Invited for 2014 Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Scholarship Award

ased on the Jewish concept of tikkun olam, or “repair of the world,” the Diller Teen Tikkun Olam Awards seek to recognize teens who are exceptional role models in their communities and beyond. The awards celebrate teens who have demonstrated remarkable leadership and are actively engaged in projects that embody the values oftikkun olam. Teen projects may benefit the Jewish community specifically or the broader community in general. Up to fifteen selected teens -- five from California and ten from other communities across the country -- will each be acknowledged for their visionary actions with an award of $36,000 to be used to further their philanthropic work or their education. Anyone, except a family member, is eligible to nominate a teen, and. teens are welcome to apply without a nomination. In that case, no nomination form will be filled out, but an additional (third) recommendation is required. Anyone can serve as a reference for a teen, except for the applicant’s nominator or a member of the applicant’s family. 100 Black Men of America Future Leader Scholarship Program 100 Black Men of America Future Leader Scholarship Program is open to high school seniors as well as college freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. The scholarship is based on academic achievement and community service. To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above. It is also necessary for applicants to have completed 50 hours of community service without compensation within the past 12 months and be able to document their volunteer work. To apply, students will be asked to complete a 600-word essay on one of four topics. Eligible students include high school seniors and college undergraduate students attending or planning to attend full-time a U.S. accredited, post-secondary institution. Darin C. Banks Foundation Scholarship Competition is for high school seniors between the ages of 16-18. Eligible students must be planning to enroll full-time in a U.S. accredited college or university. To qualify, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and be U.S. citizens. The Tom Joyner Foundation "Full Ride" Scholarship

The Tom Joyner Foundation "Full Ride" Scholarship awards a full scholarship to one student to attend a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors with high academic records. To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or above, SAT score of 2100 or higher, and ACT score of 30 or above. The scholarship covers all tuition expenses such as tuition, room and board, books and fees. Digital Media Internship Opportunity St John Baptist de la Salle Parish, Granada Hills The Media Ministry of St. John Baptist de la Salle Parish is offering an internship opportunity for Notre Dame students to earn service hours while expanding their skill in using digital media. Interns will work with experienced lay ministers, including an award-winning director, to heighten the worship experience of the parish community both inside and outside the church building through the innovative use of digital media. Interns can work on a variety of projects, including: • Create Power Point presentations of images for projection during our Media Masses. Interns produce the modern version of stained glass windows, finding digital images that enrich the experience of the Word, the music and the prayers at the Sunday Mass. • Record the Gospel reading and the Homily for audio streaming from the parish web page. CAPED Student Scholarships CAPED Student Scholarships are awarded to students with disabilities who are pursuing post-secondary education in the state of California. Disabilities include any verified physical, mental, or learning disability that substantially limits one or more major life activities, as defined in the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. Students must be enrolled in an accredited California state university, community college, or private college. Lincoln Center Internship

LINCOLN CENTER Media Development Intern Description DEPARTMENT Media Development DESCRIPTION The Media Development Department of Lincoln Center works to bring the world class performance and artistic activity taking place in our venues to wider audiences across the country and the globe through distribution on a variety of platforms. Our signature, award-winning series, Live From Lincoln Center, brings live performances of opera, drama, music, and dance to approximately 20 million television screens across the country every year. Recently, Media Development also produced LincolnCenter's first-ever in-theater event, bringing the New York City Ballet's George Balanchine's The Nutcracker to hundreds of movie theaters around the world. And a variety of new projects are in the works, including an artist interview series featuring Lincoln Center artists discussing their work and process. Media Development seeks two graduate or college level students for summer internships. This is a particularly good opportunity for those students pursuing or considering pursuing careers in media production and/or development, new media, film, or arts administration. This summer placement will have the opportunity to receive valuable, hands-on experience in all aspects of performing arts media development and distribution and include production, research and administrative tasks. Interns will be given the opportunity to work across Lincoln Centerdepartments and series, interacting with a variety of Lincoln Center staff and artists. Internships are 8-10 weeks in length, are full-time and may involve evening and weekend hours. Media Development Internship approximate dates: June, July, August, 2013 Interns should be earning school credit. If this is not possible, a letter of support from an academic advisor is required. Must be in the greater Los Angeles area. Must have experience performing before live audiences at concerts or shows. Must be available for local and national travel (travel expenses included). Pay range $75-$150 per day for performances (depending on experience), plus $15 per hour for rehearsals, plus mileage. Some meals provided.
